MOOG® Brand ‘Making it Easy’ With New Coverage, Innovative Solutions and More
Federal-Mogul’s MOOG® brand has launched several exciting new product offerings that reinforce the message to, “Make it Easy. Make it MOOG®.”
“Making it easy means providing our customers with all of the solutions they need to grow their chassis parts and service business,” said Hayley Elwen, Federal-Mogul brand manager, Steering & Braking, Europe, Middle East and Africa. “For the repair shop, we’re making it easier than ever through an extensive new range of innovative parts that speed the job for increased productivity and profitability.”
Among the newest MOOG solutions is a full offering of complete steering rack gaiter kits for automotive applications. These new kits include two durable, high-impact bellows, four robust clamps and one grease pack for a comprehensive repair. Each bellows unit is produced from an advanced polyurethane formulation that is resistant to impacts, corrosion and temperature extremes.
The MOOG brand continues to build on its heritage of developing innovative solutions to common steering and suspension issues. MOOG engineers recently introduced a proven solution (#AMGK7455) for Mercedes-Benz Sprinter ball joint failures. To ensure maximum strength and wear resistance, MOOG replacement ball joints for this application feature induction heat-treated ball studs and bearing surfaces. The hardened powdered-metal bearing will not deform under heavy loads and its surface porosity maintains exceptional lubrication.
Federal-Mogul is expanding the range of MOOG solutions to ensure industry-best coverage. An analysis of one common late-model application, the Peugeot 207, indicates that MOOG now offers a complete range of repair solutions, including tie rod ends, axial rods, wishbones, ball joints, link stabilisers and bushings.
“Our emphasis over the past year has been to achieve market leadership in full-line coverage,” said Eric Zumbrunn, Federal-Mogul marketing director, Steering, Europe, Middle East and Africa. “We’ve expanded our product range by 25.5 percent over the past 12 months to help customers address all common service opportunities. It’s the fourth year in a row this level of growth has been achieved – proving MOOG’s commitment to Making it Easy.”
Another key area of growth has been in the commercial vehicle category, where MOOG has relaunched its offering of OE-technology replacement steering and suspension components. The MOOG CV line now offers one of the industry’s best application coverages, with products such as tie rod ends, drag links, torque rods, V-bars, bushings and complete chassis repair kits.
