Recent On-Vehicle Tests Demonstrate Advantages of Ferodo® Brakes

Stopping power – it’s the ultimate measure of safety and performance in the brake products category. And it clearly is the number one braking criterion for drivers, who rely on their brakes to avoid accidents under all driving conditions.

With this key characteristic in mind, Ferodo® engineers recently conducted an extensive series of competitive brake performance tests at the independent Motor Industry Research Association proving ground in the U.K. Carried out according to Regulation R90 requirements for replacement brake pads, these tests compared the required stopping distances of Ferodo Premier brake pads and those of four leading competitors when fitted on a fully loaded Ford C-MAX.

In stopping distance tests from 160 kph, Ferodo Premier pads brought the vehicle to a complete stop in just 118 metres, while competing brake pads required as much as 20 additional metres in stopping distance. In an urban-type stopping test, Ferodo Premier pads stopped the vehicle from 80 kph in 35,1 metres; pads from other manufacturers required up to 3.2 additional metres to stop the same vehicle.
